Proximus collects and processes location data to provide the core experience of Lens On Ghent. Because location data is sensitive personal information, we strictly limit its use to the following app functionality:

• Foreground Location: When using the city tour view, your location is updated approximately every 5 seconds to display nearby Points of Interest (POIs) on your map and allow you to unlock them as you move.
• Background Location Access: When you put Lens On Ghent in the background or lock your phone screen while on a tour, the app continues to access your location in the background. This is strictly required to automatically trigger and play audio guide tracks for nearby POIs without requiring you to keep your phone unlocked in your hand.

Retention & Processing:

• Location data is processed in real time solely to trigger app features and is never stored on our servers or linked to your personal identity.
• Location tracking automatically stops when you exit the app or close the background tour service.
• We do not sell, share, or use your location data for advertising or tracking across third-party services.

3. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your location data and take necessary measures to safeguard it from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

4. Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

We do not collect, process, or store personal identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or device identifiers.

5. Data Retention, Sharing, and Deletion

Because location data is processed strictly in real-time on your device and is never stored or transmitted to our servers, Proximus does not retain any of your personal data. Consequently, there is no personal data stored that requires a manual data deletion request. We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.

Lens On Ghent is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
